Heh, if we get some artists here I'd like to ask them to help me out with the Book of Expansions and a few classes. It's just sad not having art to match the concept.

Prime32 wrote:So, can we get some specific concepts for iconics of each class?

Muscular wizard who uses touch spells (in a manner which has been HANDED DOWN HIS FAMILY LINE FOR GENERATIONS!)
Mystical wizard with skeletal servant handing him a scroll (not too obviously necromantic).
Elemental specialist wizard
Shaman cleric
Knightly cleric
"Strength of my ancestors" cleric who looks kinda like this
Swashbuckler rogue blinding a guy
Fear-based/assassin rogue who looks kinda like Batman
Skill-monkey rogue tossing a dagger in his hand as he opens a lock or disarms a trap
Legionaire fighter with a ton of different-looking weapons strapped to his back
Monk fighter who wields a broom
Armoured fighter protecting someone from an area effect with a shield.

We have these races to choose from, which should be spread beyond their stereotypical roles (orc wizards, for instance). Some of these iconics should be shown interacting.

We need at least one iconic multiclass character to emphasise that yes, multiclassing is something perfectly natural and you shouldn't be afraid to use it. Similarly, at least one should use a planetouched template.

What other classes were there again?

So after getting Prime's PM over at GitP i figured i'd give this a shot. Anything to get myself to practice... ;)

Should i just toss something together so we have a basis for discussion, or is there something in particular that should be done?
(Like for example the quoted list of characters)

Hey, just tell us what you need. :) Take a look over the work that's been done so far to get a feel for things if you want.

We haven't really decided on the final appearances of hobgoblins, birdpeople, the aquatic race and the construct race yet, so any input on that would be welcome.

Could I get a link to any of your previous work to get an idea of your style?

Hey, Rockbird, great to see you here. :D

Anyways, I'm the other person from GitP who fell for Prime's promises of glory, riches and the souls of your firstborn children in exchange for my artistic participation. Nice to meet you all. :) Quite a project you've got going here...

I gave a shot at one of the ideas - the elemental specialist wizard. Some more consensus about exactly WHAT to draw would be nice, though. ^^; For now, I'm going with that nice little list of ideas and allowing myself artistic freedom.

But anyway, how is this? I tried to incorporate your ideas about versatility and flexibility in classes and gave the character a weapon besides the magic... Is this the kind of style you would be satisfied with? What about the design?

Wait, what? You were promised the souls of their first-born?
And here i am, working for a promise of free booze and a thank-you plaque. That's what i get for being cheap... :x

Very cool stuff. I'll certainly have a lot of specific, detailed requests once things get a bit further along.

I feel i should give you guys a quick status report.

A few days back i was diagnosed with leukemia. It's looking pretty well, i've begun treatment and am feeling rather well at the moment. Still, it will probably make my participation in the project unpredictable. When i feel that i've got the strength et cetetra i'll help out, but it may be sporadic.
Just to let you guys know.

He wields a cane sword disguised as a simple wooden walking stick. Comes across as a weak and tired traveler. He looks frail and decrepit, but he has exceptional agility, as evidenced by his Dexterity, and his Techniques and Talents.

They disguised the cane sword as a simple wooden walking stick??? What happen???? Just curious...
